एक सेठ बड़ा धनवान था। उसे अपने ऐश्वर्य धन सम्पत्ति का बड़ा अभिमान था। अपने को बड़ा दानी धर्मात्मा सिद्ध करने के लिये घर पर नित्य एक साधु को भोजन कराता था। 

एक दिन एक ज्ञानी महात्मा आये उसके यहां भोजन करने को। सेठ जी ने उनकी सेवा पूजा करने का तो ध्यान नहीं रखा और अपने अभिमान की बातें करने लगा “ देखो महाराज वहाँ से लेकर इधर तक यह अपनी बड़ी कोठी है। पीछे भी इतना ही बड़ा बगीचा है। पास ही दो बड़ी मिलें हैं अमुक -अमुक शहर में भी मिलें हैं। इतनी धर्मशालाएँ कुएं बनाये हुये हैं। दो लड़के विलायत पढ़ने जा रहे हैं। आप जैसे साधु संन्यासियों के पेट पालन के लिये यह रोजाना का सदावर्त लगा रखा है।”सेठ अपनी बातें कहता ही जा रहा था।

महात्मा जी ने सोचा इसके अभिमान को अब दूर करना चाहिए। बीच में रोक कर सेठ जी से कहा “ आपके यहाँ दुनिया का नक्शा है।”
सेठ ने कहा “ महाराज बहुत बड़ा नक्शा हैं।” महात्मा जी ने नक्शा मँगाया। उसमें सेठ से पूछा “ इस दुनिया के नक्शे में भारत कहाँ है?
“ सेठ ने बताया। “ अच्छा इसमें मुम्बई कहाँ हैं? “ सेठ ने हाथ रखकर बताया। “ महात्मा जी ने फिर पूछा “ अच्छा इसमें तुम्हारी कोठी, बगीचे, मिलें बताओ कहाँ हैं?

सेठ बोला “ महाराज दुनिया के नक्शे में इतनी छोटी चीजें कहाँ से आई?
महात्मा ने कहा “ सेठ जी जब इस दुनिया के नक्शे में तुम्हारी कोठी, बगीचे, महल का कोई पता नहीं तो विश्व ब्रह्माण्ड जो भगवान के लीला ऐश्वर्य का एक खेल मात्र है उनके यहाँ तुम्हारे ऐश्वर्य का क्या स्थान होगा?
“ सेठ जी समझ गया और उसका अभिमान नष्ट हुआ। वह साधु के चरणों में गिरकर क्षमा याचना करने लगा। थोड़ी सी समृद्धि ऐश्वर्य पाकर मनुष्य इतना अभिमानी और अहंकारी बन जाता है। यदि वह अपनी स्थिति की तुलना अन्य लोगों से, फिर भगवान के अनन्त ऐश्वर्य से करे तो उसे अपनी स्थिति का पता चले। धन सम्पत्ति ऐश्वर्य का अभिमान वथा है, सबसे बड़ी मूर्खता है। भगवन के घर केवल राम नाम की कीमत है बाकि सब व्यर्थ हैं !......

A Seth was very rich. He was proud of his aishwarya money property. He used to feed a monk at home in order to prove his big Dani Dharma.

One day a wise mahatma came to his food here. Seth ji did not pay attention to his service, and started talking to his pride, " look at your majesty from there, this is your big kothi There is such a big garden behind. There are two big mills, even in a particular city. So many dharmaśālā'ēm̐ are made well. Two boys are going to read knowledge. It has kept a daily virtue for the stomach of saints and monks like you. " Seth was going to say his words.

Mahatma ji thought his pride should be removed now. In the middle, he said to Seth ji, " you are the map of the world here. "
Seth said " Maharaj is a very big map. " Mahatma ji sang the map. He asked Seth, " where is india in this world's map?
" Seth said. " where are you in Mumbai? " Seth told him. "Mahatma ji asked again" well, where are you in your kothi, garden, meet?

Seth said, " where did you get such small things in the map of the world?
The Mahatma said, " Seth ji, when there is no address of your kothi, garden, palace in the world of this world, the world universe which is only a game of God's Lila, what will be the place of yours here?
" Seth ji understood and his pride was destroyed. He began to seek forgiveness in the feet of the saint. To get a little prosperity, man becomes so arrogant and arrogant. If he compares his position to other people, then he will find his position in the infinite way of God. Wealth Property is the pride of Aishwarya, the biggest stupidity. God's house is only the price of ram, the rest are in vain!......
